A Year of Growth: Thanks to You

When we opened Wiggle Worm Gardens, our dream was to become the go-to garden center for mountain gardeners in Eagle County, whether seasoned pros, recent transplants adjusting to high-altitude gardening, or budding beginners. Thanks to your support, that dream grew—and flourished—beyond our wildest hopes.

In 2024, 696 gardeners visited us over 2,700 times, turning their yards and gardens into havens for pollinators, beauty, and delicious produce. Your dedication to growing food, habitat, and wonder in our mountain community inspired us every day. We loved seeing familiar faces returning with stories, photos, and questions (plus a tray or two of plants and supplies 😉).

Fun Growing Pains

Let’s keep it real—running a garden center has its challenges!

One memorable summer brought long lines of eager gardeners, ready to stock up on flowers, veggies, and soil. Our tech didn’t always keep pace with your enthusiasm, resulting in laughs, a few patient sighs, and (finally) a shiny new checkout tablet.

Then there was our unexpected mascot: a tiger salamander that kept popping up in the nursery and compost piles. Your understanding underscored the spirit of our community: adaptable, good-natured, and connected to the natural world.

Looking Ahead to 2025

We’re taking everything we’ve learned this year and sowing the seeds for an even better experience next year.

What’s coming in 2025:

  • Expanded Native Plant Offerings: We’re growing more native plants onsite to complement our regionally sourced collection, making it easier to find waterwise, pollinator-friendly, and medicinal plants.

  • Interactive Displays: The garden center is getting a makeover, with informative, hands-on displays to turn every visit into an educational adventure.

  • Workshops Galore: Building on the success of our Gifts from the Garden Series, we’re expanding our class calendar. From permaculture tips to herbal crafting, there’s something for everyone.

We’re also deepening our commitment to sustainability and community collaboration. Expect more partnerships with local artisans, businesses, and organizations to keep the spirit of connection growing strong.

From all of us at Wiggle Worm Gardens, thank you for making our first year unforgettable. Here’s to another year of growing beauty, food, and community—together. 🌻
